More About Me

Bereavement is a deeply difficult time. I know this from personal experience, having lost close family members myself. In fact, it was through speaking at the funerals of my wife and other loved ones that I was drawn to celebrancy. For me, it is a calling - one that I find both humbling and rewarding. It is a privilege to help guide families through such a tender moment in their lives.

Finding the right words while grieving can feel overwhelming. I’m here to help you find them. I can also suggest readings, poetry, or music if you wish. Whether you would like a non-religious ceremony, something with spiritual elements, or a service with religious content, I will respect and support your wishes. I’m also happy to conduct memorials and ash-scattering ceremonies.

Every funeral is unique. I’ll guide you through the process and work alongside your chosen funeral director to ensure that the ceremony runs smoothly and reflects your loved one with dignity and care. I am also a professional funeral director, so I understand the wider context of funeral planning and can answer any questions you may have.

I bring a wealth of life experience to my role. I’ve served in the Royal Air Force, worked as a police officer, and spent time in both agriculture and the public sector. I’m a confident public speaker, and I care deeply about getting things right for the families I work with. Outside of work, I enjoy motorcycling, walking, and reading, and I’m actively involved in local charities and the veteran community.

Based in Beverley, I work across North and East Yorkshire and can travel to surrounding areas as needed. I’m fully insured, DBS checked, and listed with the Association of Independent Celebrants.
